Property Access

A common occurrence Solar Foundations USA has run into is gated entry to the installation site.
While this typically does not pose a problem, we ask that our clients relay this information to us ahead of time to ensure a smooth installation process.

Before installation, SFUSA will call in a Dig Safe® (or similar) public utility mark-out request for our portion of the work. If the entrance to the worksite is locked or gated, and Solar Foundations USA is aware of this ahead of time, we will reach out to the solar company to inform them of this submittal. We ask that your solar company coordinate this with the property owner so that the utility locators can access the property and mark out the dig area accordingly.

Any utility mark-out delays due to “denied access” could potentially result in a delay with installation. The safety of our installers is our top priority!

Before our crew arrives on-site, we advise your company to establish a plan for our installers to gain entry to the property. This may entail having the homeowner present on the day of installation or providing a gate code.

Lets Coordinate!

Module Change

With many distribution challenges, we have seen an increase in solar panel changes from our clients.

Uploaded Image: /vs-uploads/blog/SFUSA_Design.JPGIf your project has switched panel models prior to the installation of our structure, there is a good chance the new panel dimensions are not the same as the previous panel dimensions. Please notify Solar Foundations USA of this change immediately as this is a crucial piece in our design process. Please also allow us enough time in advance to reflect this change accordingly.

Project Submittal

Solar Foundations USA wanted to give our clients some helpful tips when submitting a project request to our team.

To help make our process a little easier on both our clients and us, please make sure to provide us with:

  • Project name
    • This is typically the homeowner’s last name or company name
  • Property address
  • Array location
    • We suggest providing a site sketch or GPS coordinates
  • Array configuration
    • SFUSA installs in landscape orientation and our most optimized configurations are 6L, and 5L
  • Solar panel model, wattage, and dimensions
    • We recommend providing a panel spec sheet reflecting the correct panel dimensions
  • Desired array tilt degree, leading-edge height and azimuth of array

*Please inform us of any height restrictions, setbacks, or requirements.

Solar Foundations USA understands homeowners and businesses may have difficult requests for their ground mount structures. We work hard to identify those needs and create a pleasing design that is cost-effective and ensures every solar array design conforms to building code requirements and remains within the tested design parameters of each solar component.
